Im Osten grenzt sie an Bosnien und Herzegowina und im \u00e4u\u00dfersten S\u00fcdosten an Montenegro.<br>Das festl\u00e4ndische Territorium der Gespanschaft wird durch einen kurzen K\u00fcstenabschnitt bei Neum, den zu Bosnien-Herzegowina geh\u00f6renden Neum-Korridor, in zwei Teile geteilt. Der s\u00fcdliche Teil um Dubrovnik hat keine direkte Landverbindung zum restlichen kroatischen Staatsterritorium und bildet damit eine Exklave Kroatiens.
